SEATTLE (AP) - Attorney General Bob Ferguson says Washington will receive about $1 million as its share of a $38 million multi-state settlement with a nursing home chain accused of substandard care for Medicaid patients.

About half of Washington’s money goes to its Medicaid program and half to the federal government for its Medicaid match.

Ferguson also says Extendicare Health Services is required to improve care to affected residents.

The company admitted no illegal conduct.
