NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Two women were killed and three children were hospitalized after a fast-moving fire ripped through a northern New Jersey home.

Newark fire officials tell NJ.com (https://bit.ly/1whf0Yz) that firefighters responded to the Oakland Terrace home around 6:35 a.m. Sunday. The blaze was brought under control about an hour later.

Essex County prosecutors say 65-year-old Charlotte McKinney and her 41-year old daughter Tonia McKinney, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The three children and another adult hurt in the blaze were being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries, but further information on their conditions was not released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities say it does not appear to be suspicious.
