PLACITAS, N.M. (AP) - Authorities have arrested two people in connection with the seizure of $400,000 worth of marijuana plants in Sandoval County.

The Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office says detectives investigating a crime involving a child at a Placitas home Thursday came across a marijuana growing operation.

Deputies obtained a search warrant and discovered 600 plants inside the home.

They also seized evidence of narcotics paraphernalia, currency and other items indicative of narcotic trafficking.

Officers arrested 36-year-old Richard Romero and 39-year-old Nicole Sandoval charges of trafficking a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
