RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says somebody illegally shot a mule deer in Rawlins.

Game Warden Brady Frude says the buck was shot Oct. 7 or 8 and suffered for several hours before it died. He says the killing deprived the public of seeing the deer, which he described as “magnificent.”

Game and Fish says anyone with information about the crime can call the department’s poaching tip line at (877) 943-3847.

Callers may remain anonymous and can be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to a conviction.
