BURLINGTON, Vermont (AP) - A walk to raise money for programs that benefit people with Down syndrome will take place in Burlington’s Battery Park on Sunday.

The 5th Annual Champlain Valley Buddy Walk begins at noon and is expected to attract more than 250 people. Organizers say the walk will last until about 3 p.m. The event is one of more than 250 walks around the country that seek to raise awareness for people with Down syndrome and their families.

Registration for the event costs $10 for people age 10 and older.
