LOWELL, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department has announced the rescheduling of lane closures planned for Oc.t 17-19 in Benton County.

AHTD Director Scott Bennett says work on southbound lanes between Exit 76 in Springdale and Highway 264 in Lowell is being delayed because of heavy traffic expected for the War Eagle Craft Fair that weekend.

Bennett said the department is evaluating reasonable options for completing the widening work on the 2.6 mile stretch that began with work last weekend on the northbound lanes.

The AHTD says pavement work is complete on the northbound side, although the inside lane will remain closed until work on the median barrier wall is finished.
