BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - A 39-year-old Kiln woman has been sentenced to serve 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder related to a 2012 fatal shooting.

Prosecutors say Virginia M. Hill enter the plea this week in Hancock County Circuit Court in the death of Dustin Jarrell.

Circuit Judge Larry Bourgeois sentenced Hill to 40 years in prison with 15 years suspended.

Authorities say Jarrell’s body was found April 7, 2012, in the home the two shared in the Silver Creek Subdivision in Kiln.

Authorities say Jarrell was shot in the head with a high-powered assault rifle.
