MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A 22-year-old man is charged with attacking two women in a parking ramp in the downtown Minneapolis Warehouse District.

Peijan Lamont Hodges was charged Friday with two counts each of first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct in Hennepin County District Court, after his arrest the day before, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported (https://bit.ly/1tkkFAo).

According to a criminal complaint, a woman had just left work and entered an elevator at the ramp when Hodges got on beside her. When she got off the elevator on the seventh floor, Hodges followed her, the complaint said.

As soon as the woman got in her car’s driver’s seat, Hodges held her door open, took her keys and forced her into the back seat, according to the complaint. He then raped her, repeatedly hit her in the face and called her names, the complaint said. The woman honked her horn during the assault.

Another woman, who also was getting into the car next to the victim’s, noticed the assault and called out to a nearby man.

Hodges fled and was chased by a third witness, who lost sight of him, the complaint said.

The woman was treated for injuries at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Earlier in the day another woman was attacked but not raped because the man ran away when people walked by, the complaint said.

Police found Hodges Thursday morning when they saw him walking down the street allegedly wearing the same clothing, the newspaper reported.

He was in the Hennepin County Jail Friday, with bail set at $750,000.

He is expected to make a first court appearance Monday, according to Minnesota Public Radio.
