MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A former Missoula city employee is accused of stealing more than $10,000 in change from parking meters.

Duane Howard Larson appeared in Missoula County Justice Court this week and posted the $10,000 bond ordered by the Justice of the Peace.

The Missoulian reports (https://bit.ly/1sycj61 ) that Larson had worked 14 years with the city, most recently as a parking meter maintenance and fee collector.

According to court documents, a credit union employee reported to law enforcement in April that Larson was making unusually large coin deposits.

The bank provided receipts showing Larson made $10,000 in deposits over a one-year period.

Larson’s attorney, Mathew Stevenson, didn’t respond to a request for comment Friday.

Larson’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 20.
