HAMPTON,N.H. (AP) - Hampton police say a mother and father were injecting heroin in a parked car while their 6-year-old son was in the back seat.

Police have charged 31-year-old Elizabeth Green and 32-year-old Steven Quigley, both of Hampton, with endangering the welfare of a child.

Foster’s Daily Democrat (https://bit.ly/1D2XuM7 ) reports that officers responding to a possible drug overdose in a parking lot found Green in the car unconscious. Quigley said he and his son found Green in the driver’s seat but police say the pair both had used heroin while the boy sat behind them.

Green and Quigley were also charged with possessing hypodermic needles. They’re being held at the Rockingham County Jail. It could not immediately be learned if they had a lawyer.

The child was released to a family member.
