COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is putting on a series of events to benefit Special Olympics South Carolina.

Lott is inviting people to Red Robin restaurant in Columbia on Saturday for Tip-A-Cop. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., deputies will be waiting tables, and tips will go toward their efforts in support of Special Olympics in South Carolina.

Lott says the money will support year-round sports training and competition for the state’s 22,000 Special Olympics athletes.

Other Tip-A-Cop fundraisers are scheduled for Oct. 18 and Oct. 25.
