SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Authorities in Spartanburg say a man who cut off his ankle monitor and escaped from a home detention program has been arrested.

Multiple media outlets report Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Kevin Bobo said 21-year-old Lonnell Norvell Chamblee was located and brought to jail Friday.

Investigators say Chamblee cut off his ankle monitoring bracelet on Aug. 31. In addition to an escape charge, Chamblee is also charged with violating home detention. He is in the Spartanburg County jail.

In May 2012, Chamblee was charged with strong-arm robbery, assault and battery by a mob and violating his home detention after Spartanburg police said he attacked and robbed a man.

In November 2011, Chamblee was charged with attempted murder after surrendering to authorities in connection with a shooting.
