SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - A homeless man wanted for two previous prowling incidents was arrested and jailed after allegedly attacking a woman in her western Pennsylvania home.

Somerset police say 45-year-old David Fazenbaker tried to choke the woman and bit her face after entering her apartment Sunday morning.

Police already had charged Fazenbaker in a prowling incident in July and had an arrest warrant for a similar incident last month.

Police Chief Randy Cox says “there has been an escalation of inappropriate behavior and now culminating today in violence.”

Fazenbaker was being represented by a public defender who could not immediately be located for comment Sunday.

He faces a preliminary hearing on the newest charges Oct. 21.
