HAZLEHURST, Miss. (AP) - Authorities have identified the victims of a car-train accident in Hazlehurst that left two people dead.

Authorities say an adult and two children were in a car that stalled on tracks and was struck by a train Friday. One of the children survived and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Hazlehurst Police Chief Byron Swilley tells WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/1stfT0V ) Andrew Gilmore, believed to be in his 40s, and 3-year-old Rashad Gilmore, were killed while 4-year-old Rena (Rih-NAY) Gilmore, suffered injuries that, according to officials, are not believed to be life threatening.

Authorities say Andrew Gilmore and the young children were cousins.

Witnesses say Andrew Gilmore was sitting along the tracks with the children when they were struck by the train around 6:15 p.m.

The investigation into the accident continues.
