BOLTON, England (AP) - Nearly five months after leaving Scottish champion Celtic, Neil Lennon has secured a return to management at second-tier English struggler Bolton.

Bolton announced the appointment on Sunday, saying Lennon “brings with him experience at the highest level and an infectious enthusiasm to take the club forward.”

The 43-year-old Lennon left Celtic in May after winning a third straight Scottish league title. In four years at Parkhead, he also won two Scottish Cups and led Celtic to the last 16 of the Champions League and a victory over Barcelona in the group stage.

Bolton was relegated from the Premier League in 2012 and hasn’t been close to returning to England’s top division. The northwest club is bottom of the League Championship with just one win in 11 games this season.
