PENFIELD, N.Y. (AP) - Police in western New York are investigating after a woman was killed in a multiple-vehicle hit-and-run.

Cpl. John Helfer of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office tells the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester (https://on.rocne.ws/1st3lqv ) that authorities found the body of 30-year-old Amy Menz in the roadway at about 10 p.m. Saturday in the town of Penfield, just east of Rochester.

Authorities say Menz ran out into the street after an argument with a family member.

Helfer says she was struck by several vehicles, and that three cars briefly pulled over but then drove off.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
