KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) - Kennesaw State University officials are planning a simulated dorm fire to teach students how quickly a blaze can spread.

University officials say the Tuesday afternoon simulation is part of fire safety month.

Organizers say the demonstration will show students how quickly a lit candle can spread a fire when it comes in contact with things like bedspreads, curtains, books and paper.

Officials say Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services officials will be on hand to safely extinguish the fire demonstration.
