PENN HILLS, Pa. (AP) - Police believe the same man was responsible for robbing two Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants in the Pittsburgh suburbs before escaping after a police chase.

Penn Hills police say the man robbed a KFC there about 8:15 p.m. Sunday. That happened about 15 minutes after another KFC was robbed in Monroeville.

Police in Forest Hills saw a vehicle matching the description of one driven by the robbery suspect. When that vehicle refused to stop, the driver led police on a chase into Wilkinsburg and Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhoods, where police lost the suspect.

The suspect allegedly fired a shot during the second robbery in Penn Hills, but didn’t show a weapon or make any threats in Monroeville. Police there say the man entered that restaurant with his shirt pulled up over his face and demanded money.
