LEROY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - State police say they’re still trying to determine if the deaths of a 59-year-old man and his adult daughter in western Michigan earlier this month were a murder-suicide.

Police say they found the body of 59-year-old Gary Volkers next to a vehicle in Osceola County’s Le Roy Township on Oct. 5. The Grand Rapids Press (https://bit.ly/1z8QKh9 ) reports he died of a gunshot wound.

Later that day, they found the body of 31-year-old Stacey Grotenhuis in her father’s condominium in Ottawa County’s Holland Township. State police said Tuesday that she died Oct. 4 from neck lacerations.

Le Roy Township is about 95 miles north-northeast of Holland Township.

Investigators say they’re treating the woman’s death as a homicide and her father’s death as either a homicide or suicide.
