MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - Female students from two Detroit-area high schools will help construct a home through Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County’s Women Build program.

Their work begins Tuesday and is part of trade-focused curriculum at Madison Preparatory and Madison high schools in Madison Heights.

The house will be built by women on a site north of Detroit in Madison Heights.

Habitat for Humanity says Women Build is a national program for women who want to learn construction skills while building homes and communities.

Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County has built and renovated homes for more than 174 families over the past 18 years.
