SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a jockey has been injured at a central Indiana horse racing track.

Shelbyville Fire Department firefighter Eric Clark says the jockey was airlifted Tuesday evening to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis from Indiana Grand Racing and Casino about 20 miles southeast of Indianapolis.

Clark said he did not know the name of the jockey or the nature of the jockey’s injuries. A Methodist Hospital spokesman said he had no information on the jockey.

Indiana Grand said no information on the incident would be released until Wednesday morning.

WRTV-TV reported the injury occurred during a race and that Indiana Grand canceled its remaining race for the evening afterward.
