SEATTLE (AP) - State education officials are invalidating some spring test scores from a Seattle elementary school after finding heavy erasure marks on the test booklets.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/MFB74H ) Seattle Public Schools asked for a review of Beacon Hill International School’s test scores after results shows dramatic improvement in reading and math pass rates.

School officials say they are still investigating and do not know who is responsible.

The school district sent a letter home to parents on Tuesday. The letter notes students at that school typically outperform the state in the statewide assessments and that many schools make strong gains from one year to the next.

State officials say it’s the first time the state has done a schoolwide review of test scores since testing began in 1997.
