SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Six Sioux Falls men have been charged with multiple drug counts following a year-long investigation that led to a methamphetamine bust.

Sioux Falls Police spokesman Sam Clemens tells the Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1ob16bB ) that law enforcement began monitoring 30-year-old Malek Malek in November after receiving several tips saying he dealt meth, marijuana, prescription pills and mushrooms.

A warrant was served at Malek’s home Tuesday where officers arrested four men. Clemens says officers then learned that Malek was at a local hotel and arrested him there along with another man.

Clemens says detectives seized more than 1.7 pounds of meth in the operation.

Police identified the men as 42-year-old Stewart Vanmaasdam, 41-year-old Alphonso White, 54-year-old Frederick White, 45-year-old Kevin Edmond and 30-year-old Ajak Manguak-Awan.

It’s unclear whether they have legal representation.
