PORTLAND, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities are investigating what they believe to be a murder-suicide case in Portland after the bodies of a man and woman were discovered in a home.

According to WKRN-TV (https://bit.ly/1EXUWAC), the bodies were discovered just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officials aren’t sure who killed whom or why. They say the man had asked the woman to come over to the home earlier in the day to discuss their relationship.

The woman’s family discovered the bodies on a couch when she failed to come home after that meeting.

The victims’ identities have not been released.

Portland is about 40 miles north of Nashville.
