TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Seven people are in custody after multi-agency raids targeting suspected racketeering activities of street gangs in Tucson.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the alleged gang members are suspected of narcotics trafficking, money laundering, trafficking in firearms and committing violent crimes.

More than 50 local and state law enforcement officers were involved in serving the search warrants at seven locations in Tucson before dawn Wednesday.

A collaborative investigation between the public safety department’s Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission and the Tucson Police Department led to the arrests and seizures.

The case is being prosecuted by the criminal division of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office in Tucson.
