MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A consortium of union electricians is suing a West Virginia company for failure to contribute pension, vacation, and health funds.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 596, that local’s pension fund and vacation fund, and two of the International Brotherhood Of Electrical Workers’ health funds filed the lawsuit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Clarksburg against Clarksburg-based William R. Sharpe, Inc.

The lawsuit says Sharpe was obligated under a collective bargaining agreement to make monthly payments and file monthly reports for fringe benefits. The lawsuit says Sharpe failed to do so between March and August 2014.

The electricians are asking for unpaid contributions in the amount of $42,436.55, in addition to damages, attorney fees, and related costs.

A message left with Sharpe was not immediately returned.
