BUCKHANNON, W.Va. (AP) - A former Division of Highways supervisor has received probation after pleading guilty to providing false information to the West Virginia State Police.

WBOY-TV (https://bit.ly/1w7FwUp ) reports that Barry D. Thompson entered his plea Wednesday in Upshur County Magistrate Court. Magistrate Juanita Adams sentenced Thompson to one year of probation.

The 49-year-old Mount Clare resident also faces a federal charge of lying to an FBI agent.

Both cases stem from an investigation into DOH equipment.

Thompson admitted during Wednesday’s hearing that he instructed employees to repair a dump truck that the state had previously sold.
