HUNTLEY, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say a northern Illinois man was arrested after investigators found about $43,000 in drugs in his home and an auto he was driving.

Troy Grimes of Huntley was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say in a statement that an investigation of Grimes by the McHenry County Sheriff’s office and Illinois State Police began after they were tipped he was selling marijuana.

An auto Grimes was driving was stopped Oct. 8. Authorities say a search turned up high-grade marijuana and other drugs in the car and later in the 20-year-old Grimes’ home. Also found was drug paraphernalia and about $37,000 in cash.

Grimes was released on $80,000 bond. There is no telephone listing for Grimes. It wasn’t immediately known if he has legal representation.
