MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) - Police in Meridian, Idaho, say they have arrested a 60-year-old man in the January 2013 death of his 87-year-old father after a grand jury indicted the younger man on a first-degree murder charge.

Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea said Anthony Conner of Meridian was arrested Tuesday night at a fitness club and has been booked into the Ada County Jail with bail set at $1 million.

Police started investigating after Anthony Conner reported finding his father, Otis Conner, dead and said the elderly man had fallen from a ladder.

A coroner ruled Otis Conner’s death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

An Ada County grand jury has also indicted Anthony Conner on charges of grand theft, forgery and concealing evidence.
