ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - St. Paul police say a 19-year-old man has died after a skateboarding accident.

The victim is identified as Gunnar Miller of Eagan. Miller had been skateboarding in the Merriam Park area when the accident happened around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

St. Paul Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Paulos says Miller had been holding onto the side mirror of a friend’s car when Miller let go, fell and hit his head on the street.

Paulos says paramedics took Miller to Regions Hospital, where he died Tuesday night.

Miller was not wearing a helmet. The St. Paul Pioneer Press (https://bit.ly/1Ddh5ZX) reports the 23-year-old man who was driving the car was not ticketed.
