HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - The Hattiesburg man who wounded five people at a Mexican restaurant in Hattiesburg in 2012 has pleaded guilty to five counts of aggravated assault.

District Attorney Patricia Burchell tells The Hattiesburg American (https://hatne.ws/1seJGJo ) 46-year-old Scott Ashley Tyner entered the open pleas Tuesday before Special Judge L. Breland Hilburn in Forrest County Circuit Court.

Tyner is scheduled to be sentenced by Hilburn Nov. 7 after a presentencing investigation. He could receive a maximum 20 years on each count.

Tyner was charged after being arrested in the April 2, 2012, shooting of five people at the Cucos restaurant in Hattiesburg.

Tyner initially had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
