STATESVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Iredell County sheriff’s deputies are investigating reports of rocks thrown from bridges onto Interstate 77 in Troutman.

The sheriff’s office told local media outlets that one woman was hurt and five vehicles were damaged while traveling south on I-77 under the Rankin Hill Road overpass late last month.

Deputies said the woman was injured by glass when a rock or piece of concrete broke through the passenger side window.

Investigators say they have questioned two 15-year-old boys, one a student at Lake Norman High School and the other at Mooresville High School. Officers are seeking charges through the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Deputies say the total damage to five vehicles is about $5,000.
