HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say two people have died following a crash involving a wrong-way driver on Interstate 94 in suburban Detroit.

Police say 72-year-old Larry McCullough of Eastpointe was heading east in the westbound lanes on Tuesday night when he collided with another motorist in Macomb County’s Harrison Township.

According to police, McCullough died at the scene and the other motorist died at a hospital. Police identified him as 41-year-old Aaron Skiba of Macomb Township.

The Macomb County sheriff’s department had received 911 calls about the wrong-way driver a few minutes before the crash. The freeway was closed for several hours after the crash, but was back open on Wednesday morning. The crash is under investigation.
