TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey man who admitted downloading images and videos of child sex abuse has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison.

Federal prosecutors say 24-year-old Joshua Babilonia of Fair Lawn must also register as a sex offender and pay $6,000 in restitution under the sentence imposed Wednesday. He also must serve five years of supervised release once he’s freed.

Babilonia pleaded guilty to a complaint charging him with receiving images of child sex abuse online. The charges came after authorities executed a search warrant at the home of Babilonia’s parents in September 2012.

Agents seized digital evidence that contained more than 600 images and a large number of videos depicting child sexual abuse, including material that involved prepubescent children and portrayed sadistic or masochistic conduct.
