MARGATE, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida family is mourning the deaths of two young sisters found dead in a canal behind their home.

Police say the girls were found Tuesday night several hours after they went missing while playing outside their home in Margate.

The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1r9Wxce ) reports first responders found 4-year-old Louidline Louima, pulled her from the water and started CPR. About a half-hour later they found 2-year-old Louidjiena Louima. She was unresponsive.

Both children were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Police say their father called 911 around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after realizing the girls were missing.

On Sunday night a 59-year-old woman and her 4-year-old granddaughter were found dead in a lake in nearby Miramar hours after going to feed ducks
