LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A 16-year-old girl is jailed without bond after a car crash that killed two people in Hatch.

Court documents show the teen has been accused of negligent child abuse resulting in death, vehicular homicide, great bodily harm by vehicle, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, driving without a license and minor in possession of alcohol.

Dona Ana County Sheriff’s investigators say additional charges of DWI are pending.

The teenager’s name is being withheld because she’s a juvenile.

Authorities say the charge of negligent child abuse provides that the teen can be tried as an adult.

The girl allegedly was the driver of a pickup truck that crashed head-on with another vehicle.

The 32-year-old driver of the other car was killed along with a 16-year-old girl in the teen’s truck.
