MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - One of the most talked-about topics this election season in Vermont has been how to get a handle on rapidly rising costs for the state’s public schools.

Now Democrats in the Vermont House and Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Milne are set to offer their ideas for addressing the school funding issue.

House Democrats are planning a Wednesday news conference at the Statehouse to outline their plans for controlling school costs and reducing upward pressure on property taxes.

Milne is due at Spaulding High School in Barre later Wednesday to outline his plans for dealing with education costs.
