SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Some Spokane residents were alarmed Tuesday night by military planes flying overhead.

KHQ reports (https://bit.ly/1sLrjyC) it received a number of calls.

The flights by a variety of helicopters and cargo planes were a training exercise involving Army Rangers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord and air support from Fairchild Air Force Base.

The training continues through Thursday.
