HOUSTON (AP) - Authorities say murder charges have been filed against three people accused in a machete attack that left a 14-year-old Houston boy dead.

Houston police on Thursday announced the arrest of three suspects in the slaying of Jose Meraz.

The teen’s body was discovered Sept. 15 near Addicks Reservoir. Police have not released a possible motive for the killing.

Investigators arrested 22-year-old Jose Granados-Guevara and 17-year-old William Alexander Valladares. Police say a third suspect, a 14-year-old boy, faces prosecution as a juvenile. His name hasn’t been released.

Online Harris County jail records show Valladares was being held without bond Thursday. No attorney was listed. Jail records did not immediately list details for Granados-Guevara.
