BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a plane has crashed in the Big Bear area of the mountains east of Los Angeles, injuring 3 people.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman tells KNX-AM radio that the Highway Patrol reported the plane crash at around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Searchers found the wreckage near Highway 18 west of Glory Ridge.

Bachman says the three people on board had moderate injuries, including bumps and bruises and perhaps some broken bones.

She says they’re being hoisted out of the wreckage.

Big Bear is about 85 miles east of Los Angeles. The mountain resort has an airport but Bachman says it’s unclear whether the plane was taking off or landing.
