SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - People no longer have to boil drinking water in a Utah town west of Salt Lake City.

Authorities say tests showed water from Stansbury Park was free from coliform bacteria late Thursday afternoon.

Tooele County health officials say the bacteria found in the water Wednesday can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea and sometimes jaundice.

Though common and not considered harmful in the environment, it raises concern in drinking water.

Tooele County health officials say the bacteria usually indicate a problem with water treatment or pipes.

Authorities say they found the cause of the contamination, flushed the water and disinfected the system.
