MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) - Efforts to renovate the Delft Theater in Marquette are getting a $481,000 boost.

The funding announced Wednesday by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. is part of an effort to reopen the attraction as a restaurant and dinner theater. The project is expected to include a rooftop deck, a flexible stage for live events and balcony seating.

The Delft was built in 1914. Community Development Block Grant funds will be used for interior and exterior building rehabilitation.

The MEDC says the Michigan Strategic Fund also approved funds for other projects elsewhere.

Auto industry supplier SL America Corp. is getting a $615,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to expand into Auburn Hills. Cassopolis is getting $127,800 in Block Grant funds to be used toward infrastructure improvements for a Schwintek Inc. expansion.
