VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - An animal control official says his workers corralled a herd of about 18 horses that gave drivers a surprise as the animals ambled down a Vancouver-area street.

The Columbian reports (https://is.gd/nMi38d ) that Clark County Animal Control Manager Paul Scarpelli said the horses were reported in a 911 call on Wednesday afternoon. Sheriff’s officers responded to help direct traffic.

In a little more than an hour, the horses were contained. Scarpelli says his office is working to find the horses’ owner or owners.

There were no reports of any injuries.
