LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a Los Angeles County woman has been charged with neglecting nine horses including two that died and two that had to be euthanized because they were sick and starving.

Thirty-Four-year-old Aron Emily Jacques of Santa Clarita appeared in court Wednesday to face four felony counts of animal cruelty and five misdemeanor counts of failure to care for an animal. Each of the nine charges is for a different horse.

City News Service reports that Jacques did not enter a plea and her arraignment was postponed until December. No attorney information was available and she couldn’t be reached for comment.

Prosecutors say animal control found the starving horses on the property in February.

Jacques could get seven years and six months in prison if convicted of all charges.
