SALEM, Ore. (AP) - An FBI spokeswoman says law enforcement officers believe the same man robbed two Willamette Valley bank branches Thursday - one in Salem and one in Eugene.

Spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele says a Wells Fargo Bank branch inside a Salem grocery story was hit Thursday morning. On Thursday afternoon, the same man is believed to have robbed an Umpqua Bank branch in Eugene.

In both cases, the robber demanded cash from a teller, received an undisclosed amount of money and left.

Steele says the man wore the same blue tennis shoes and black basketball shorts in each case, changing only his top.

Eugene is about 60 miles south of Salem.
