OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - The federal trial of a Mississippi man charged in the deaths of two motorcyclists on the Natchez Trace is now scheduled for Dec. 15 in Oxford.

Donnie Sartain of Tishomingo was indicted in August on two counts of driving under the influence resulting in death, and two counts of negligent homicide/manslaughter.

Sartain’s charges stem from a wreck on Aug. 6, when authorities say his truck crossed the center line on the Natchez Trace in Prentiss County and struck a motorcycle, killing Gerard Nasult and Pauline Demeres, both 56, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

Court records show ongoing settlement discussion prompted U.S. District Judge Michael Mills this week to order a continuance until Dec. 15. Sartain had been scheduled for trial Oct. 20.
