BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) - A 27-year-old man has pleaded guilty in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Thornton.

The Adams County District Attorney’s Office says Dannel Bond Kimble pleaded guilty Wednesday to leaving the scene of a fatal accident and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Prosecutors say 29-year-old Joshua Stewart, a passenger in a vehicle driven by Kimble, was killed April 19 when he began to get out of the vehicle and was run over.

Officers were called to the area on reports that a man was lying motionless in the street.
