WAKE FOREST, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina woman has been arrested and charged with taking more than $11,000 from the former school where she worked.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported (https://bit.ly/1ocJrjV) that 51-year-old Sue Horton Romano of Wake Forest is accused of taking the money from Rejoice Community School earlier this year.

Police said the theft occurred between February and June.

They say since June she has worked for Rejoice!, a different Christian school in Wake Forest.

A four-month investigation began when the founder and owner of Rejoice Community School reported unaccounted bank deposits and withdrawal.

It was not clear if Romano has an attorney.
