ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland transportation officials are telling the public that Baltimore’s metro system is safe after a video emerged that appears to show two younger men trying to push someone out of a moving train.

The Daily Record reports (https://bit.ly/1waMzMh ) that the Maryland Transportation Authority’s police chief told a panel Wednesday that the incident is isolated and that crime on the metro system is down. The panel included Gov. Martin O’Malley.

The chief says there’ve been no homicides, shootings or rapes on the trains in 2014. He says there’ve been 31 robberies on the system so far this year.

The video, posted to Facebook last week, shows two young men apparently trying to push an older man out of a moving train as one of them struggles to hold the door open.
