SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) - A Salisbury man is in jail without bond following his arrest in a double murder case.

The Salisbury Post reports (https://bit.ly/1wNcUzY) 28-year-old Kenneth Wayne Abel Jr. is charged with two counts of felony murder in the deaths of Antonio “Tony” Walker and James “Junior” Walker Jr.

Authorities say police were sent to a home in Spencer on Oct. 8 after a woman called to say three armed men wearing gorilla masks invaded the home.

Tony Walker, who was in a bedroom, was shot and killed. Junior Walker grabbed a gun and tried to fire it, but instead was beaten in the head with the weapon and shot to death.

Abel is being held in the Rowan County jail. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
